Douglas DC-10
Douglas Aircraft Company's three-engine DC-10, introduced to the JAL fleet in 1976, was the last in the famous "DC" range of airliners, originating in the 1930's. The DC-10 was developed as a medium capacity wide-bodied jet and depending on the route is equipped with up 300 seats. JAL operates the DC-10 on domestic and international routes.

McDonell Douglas MD-11 (J-bird)

Boeing 777-300 (Star Jet)

Boeing 747-400 (International version)

Boeing 767-300
JAL introduced the two-man cockpit high-technology 767 to the fleet in 1985 and currently uses two versions on short to medium haul routes on the international and domestic networks. Boeing747-SR(Short Range)
In the early 1970's, faced with domestic airport operating restrictions on one hand and growing passenger traffic on the other, JAL introduced a special version of the Boeing Jumbo Jet to short-haul trunk routes. Called the 747-Short Range (SR), the aircraft has a strengthened undercarriage and airframe to cope with the higher incidence of landings and takeoffs. JAL was the first airline in the world to introduce this 747 version, in 1974.
